Today makes 1001 (posts and memories).

Well, today the blog has passed the 1,000-post mark.

Time officially flies.

Thank you for indulging me.  Not every post is as witty or pithy or insightful as I would like you to believe I am.  And some days are just downright boring and/or self-indulgent.  But, you've witnessed a whole lot of my life, whether you like it or not.  And I'm thankful.

This little project has forced me (and David...thanks, honey!) to take lots of pictures and do lots of reflecting and count to six at least once a day.  And, honestly, I feel really grateful for that.

I imagine Naomi and Juliet flipping through these posts many years from now, seeing how I fell in love with their dad and then with them.  I hope they'll smile at some memories, curse me for some incriminating photos, and feel a piece of my soul.

Katie Meyler and the other Ebola fighters are honored as TIME's Person of the Year.

Certain celebrations require a table flip.

Disclaimer: this table was already flipped. The birthday girl pictured merely seized a perfect opportunity to express displeasure at the establishment's preferred method of "celebration."

"Love pouches," courtesy of Juliet today.

A place to keep our "love notes and other gifts," says the six-year-old.
(PS: Although we love our kitten, I'm fairly certain no one has ever called anyone else "love kitten" in this house. From the mouths of babes?)

Second annual ornament contest is underway!

Place your bets people!  How many ornaments will fall?
And this year we have a bonus kitten round...Will the tree topple too?
