Everyone is excited about summer 2016.

When the relief washes over you.

Some days are weirder than others.

Today I painted two rooms with colleagues, co-hosted a (gigantic) impromptu yard sale (pictured above), and finalized a budget. All in a day's work. 

Memories may fade, but happiness endures.

Sometimes life's ugly. And it's ok.

Listen. It's been a hard few days. 

It's easy to only post the happy/pretty/glossy. But life is realer/fuller/harder than that. 

You cry off all your makeup. You still have the voter sticker on your sweatshirt from yesterday. You miss your husband. And your heart hurts. 

And it's ok to document and share it. Even if it feels a little scary. Because that's today.

My sweet Stanley, rest in peace.

My handsome beefcake Stanley died peacefully today. He fought bravely and valiantly for two months after a leukemia diagnosis and a sudden onset of feline vestibular disease. He purred and cuddled all the way until the end, I believe to make it easier on me. It's so wonderful and so hard to love so much.
