A little excitement for the night.

We'll start with this: All is totally fine.

However, this evening we came home to a chirping smoke/carbon monoxide detector that would not quit, even once detached and re-batteried. That, alongside a Lulu who would not stop panting heavily and acting very oddly, made us certain that we should call the fire department.

Shout out to the Chicopee FD who were here in minutes and SUPER willing to test the entire house and spend as much time working with our detectors as necessary. They were fantastic, and our wonderful neighbors also checked in to make sure we were ok.

0% of anything noxious was detected, and we're pretty sure we simply have a faulty detector and a dog who was just incredibly bothered by the incessant beeping.

What a good dog!! And an unexpectedly exciting date night in!

Ominous morning sun, foretelling another scorcher.

No longer just a heat wave - this summer has officially graduated to solar tsunami status.

First felon. Security breach; damning evidence.

Not to worry, he didn't get far. Yeti can't help but meow when he hears my voice calling to him. The fortress has been properly reinforced, and security has tightened significantly.
